Job description

The role will involve building a risk management framework and promoting a risk culture within the business. You will also be responsible for first line risk management activities, including executing the AML duties. You will be responsible for reporting on all operational and enterprise risk related matters to the Management committee, providing insights into risks, challenges, and opportunities.



Main responsibilities

• Perform enterprise-wide risk assessments
• Identify and measure risks, define the controls to be carried out using the processes and key controls to cover these risks, in accordance with the Risk Management Framework
• Engage with the business to identify and assess risks against existing controls and develop actions to remediate control gaps and improve processes
• Contribute to the design and implementation of a strong first line of defence function
• Support the first line functions in developing appropriate processes and controls that aim to ensure that the risks related to the business are identified, analysed and measured
• Ensure that business risk procedures and processes are documented, implemented and maintained
• Ensure the business meets regulatory risk requirements
• Carry out regular internal tests to ensure that the identified risks are controlled
• Conduct adequate transaction monitoring
• Analyse control results and define measures to address weaknesses
• Support, escalate and oversee the investigation and resolution of operational incidents
• Conduct root cause analysis on new risk incidents and risk issues and recommend process improvements and develop preventive and corrective action plans
• Keep up to date with risk management best practices, regulatory change and industry trends
• Drive the risk agenda

Experience

• Higher education
• Minimum 3 years experience in risk, majority of which is in financial services
• Expertise in risk management frameworks

Your profile

• Strong ability to proactively assess and analyse relevant risks and oversee effective risk mitigation plans
• You are currently working or have worked within the area of risk and/or within private banking
• Possesses strong attention to detail and upholds high standards of doing so within reporting lines
• Excellent communicator, ability to influence the risk strategy
